I did this small project about 5 years ago (so 2014-ish), but the point still stands, Mongolia is a ridiculously sparse country where even the official statistic on population density is misleading - half the population lives in the capital Ulaanbaatar, so the actual population density is half the official figure (1.9 persons per sq. km), so 0.9 persons per sq.km. This makes it sparser than the Pitcairn Islands!
